33 Apocalypse Ave (and eventually to Limbo City), Friday Afternoon

Last week, Kathy had been an utter lump, eating ice cream and playing sad music and watching a lot of TV while she got used to life without the guys. This week wasn't actually much easier, but Kathy's tolerance for her own moping had run out and left her needing to do something that wasn't just dwell.

Fortunately, it wasn't like she was lacking in options. With the guys gone and Raven spending most of her time out in the woods, the house was just too big and full of memories. So she was moving back to the apartment above Luke's - along with Raven, at least nominally - and this week she'd really gotten her ass in gear when it came to packing. Most of the upstairs was packed, even if those boxes were still mostly stacked downstairs, and now she was just cleaning out their old rooms of the detritus the always seemed to accumulate under furniture and in corners.

Like this old credit card bill of Dante's from...April of 2017. Kathy snorted and rolled her eyes, preparing to toss it into the bin that was half-full of junk when she noticed that one of the items on there was in Hangul. Wait. Had Dante been learning stuff in Korean?

Wait. 김치 크림 파이. Was that a-- Kathy grabbed her phone and did a quick search and yep. It was pretty much exactly the kind of website she'd been expecting with a name like that. Definitely didn't have to do with desserts, that was for damn sure.

"Oh." She wasn't entirely sure what to make of it, especially since that was back when everything had still been really...rough...between them. They'd been friends, in a tentative kind of manner, but no more. So then why...?

"Hi, Portalocity? I've got a portal scheduled to Limbo City for later on this evening, but I was wondering, could I bump it up to earlier than that? Something this afternoon would be good, yeah."

"No matter what happens, I could never regret you," Kathy said, more honestly than his teasing probably warranted.

It earned her a hug, was what it did.

Tight and happy and full of five days of missing her.

She hadn't gotten him to come so hard he fell to his knees, but that just meant that he could support her when she wrapped both legs around his waist and kissed him, hard and long and full of five days of missing him, too.

He hadn't wanted to come that hard. He wanted to be here with her.

Even odds on whether Dante would ever tell her that in those words, though.

He kissed her back, his hands sliding up her back and exploring her skin all over again. "Missed you," he mumbled between kisses. "Fuck, I missed you."

"Yes," she said and then her voice caught and she couldn't say anything else. But the fervor was there in how she rained kisses on his face and how tightly she clung to him.

It was nothing but the shower.

Eventually, Dante pulled away from her mouth and dropped his chin on her shoulder.

It was strange how important she felt in his arms. Something had shifted over the past year, and he wasn't sure what.

But he was happy to be here.

All Kathy knew was that even though this had started with her teasing him about getting him on his knees, she was in no rush to leave his arms. It was like five days of frustration got muted when he held her like this; sure, it was still there, just a lot less pressing.

"Hey," she murmured in his ear, only just loud enough to be heard over the falling water. "Can I teach you a Korean word?"

"Always," Dante murmured.

"Saranghae," Kathy said, pronouncing it slowly. "I bet you can guess what it means."

In no small part because he'd been hearing versions of that for awhile - for far longer than he'd been hearing its English counterpart.

"Something nice?" Dante teased gently.

Mostly because he wasn't completely sure he had it right.

"I'm always nice," Kathy teased. "Much nicer than the both of you combined."

Okay, at least half of that comment was bullshit.

"It means 'I love you,'" she added, looking into his eyes.

Dante smiled back. He pressed a gentle kiss to her mouth. "Then saranghae," he said, figuring he was butchering the pronounciation. Points for meaning it, though, right?

All the points for meaning it. And yeah, his pronunciation was way off, but that just meant she could hear him say it a hundred more times as she corrected him.

...Some other time. Right now, it was enough that he'd tried.

"You can practice with Anders," she said, chuckling. "It's the one word he knows, too."

"Aw, Anders knew before me?" Dante sighed. "Obviously I got something to make up for."

"Anders learned it from Carys, the first year she showed up," Kathy said with a laugh. "He was still with Nathan then, so it wasn't the romantic lesson you were envisioning, I'm sure."

She nipped his throat and whispered, "Ttameog-eojwo. That means 'Fuck me. Please.'"

"Oh, now that one I gotta remember," Dante sighed.

He slid down to his knees, nuzzling her belly.

"I keep promising to make the lessons sexy if you decide to learn," Kathy said, voice husky. "Like teaching you all sorts of dirty words and then doing them whenever you say 'em right."

"Always happy to learn," Dante said. He pressed a kiss to her belly button. Another one, right below it.

"You just remember you s-said that," Kathy said, stumbling over her words as Dante worked his way down. That whole thing about not being impatient and frustrated anymore? Was a lie. Was completely gone. Nope. That had been a temporary reprieve while she was in his arms and now that she was standing up and he was kneeling down, that reprieve was over.

Her hands gripped his shoulders, nails sharp against his skin. "You still remember what I taste like, right?" she asked, their other conversation forgotten.

"Never mind a reminder," Dante said.

He kissed her clit.

She shivered, toes curling on the wet porcelain. "Don't tease," she said, more a plea than a command.

"Okay," Dante said, and pressed her back against the wall with one hand, nudging her hips up against his face with the other one.

He sucked on her clit, rough, a statement of intent; then his tongue swept into her.

And her response was immediate - and electric. She grabbed at him again, this time nails sinking sharp into his skin. She tried to jerk forward, but his hand was firm against her chest, keeping her upper body still. Raising one leg high, she slid it over his shoulder, pulling him in even closer. She wanted him close enough to practically breathe her in.

Fuck, he missed having her around. It wasn't complete in here without her - on any level.

He'd missed her scent. And her taste, rolling along his tongue as he fucked her with it, as deep as he could go.
