33 Apocalypse Ave (and eventually to Limbo City), Friday Afternoon

Last week, Kathy had been an utter lump, eating ice cream and playing sad music and watching a lot of TV while she got used to life without the guys. This week wasn't actually much easier, but Kathy's tolerance for her own moping had run out and left her needing to do something that wasn't just dwell.

Fortunately, it wasn't like she was lacking in options. With the guys gone and Raven spending most of her time out in the woods, the house was just too big and full of memories. So she was moving back to the apartment above Luke's - along with Raven, at least nominally - and this week she'd really gotten her ass in gear when it came to packing. Most of the upstairs was packed, even if those boxes were still mostly stacked downstairs, and now she was just cleaning out their old rooms of the detritus the always seemed to accumulate under furniture and in corners.

Like this old credit card bill of Dante's from...April of 2017. Kathy snorted and rolled her eyes, preparing to toss it into the bin that was half-full of junk when she noticed that one of the items on there was in Hangul. Wait. Had Dante been learning stuff in Korean?

Wait. 김치 크림 파이. Was that a-- Kathy grabbed her phone and did a quick search and yep. It was pretty much exactly the kind of website she'd been expecting with a name like that. Definitely didn't have to do with desserts, that was for damn sure.

"Oh." She wasn't entirely sure what to make of it, especially since that was back when everything had still been really...rough...between them. They'd been friends, in a tentative kind of manner, but no more. So then why...?

"Hi, Portalocity? I've got a portal scheduled to Limbo City for later on this evening, but I was wondering, could I bump it up to earlier than that? Something this afternoon would be good, yeah."

"Okay, scratch that," Dante snickered, "I mean, make Anders model."

"Nope, sorry," Kathy said and, newsflash, she was not sorry at all, "now I've got this image in my head of you in fishnets and heels and that's just not going away anytime soon."

"You don't need to dress me up for Halloween to get me in fishnets," Dante said, his voice sounding lazy.

And in a flash she had pounced on him, knocking him onto his back and straddling him, bending over with an eager expression on her face. "What do I have to do and why did you never tell me?"

Dante laughed, stretching an arm out behind him. He watched her face for a moment, a lazy smile on his face.

"Ask," he said.

He wasn't into drag, really, but he also had zero problem with putting on fishnets in the bedroom if she was into it.

Neither was she, not really, but there had been several Tumblr threads of male celebrities in ladies lingerie that had been too attractive to say she wasn't at least a little into it.

"Dante, will you wear fishnets for me sometime?" she asked, batting her eyes at him prettily. "Heels negotiable."

Dante leaned up to kiss her pretty face.

He dropped his head back onto the pillow.

"I'd love to."

She beamed at him, briefly, then bent over him to cover his face in soft, giggly kisses. "I love you," she told him, trying to explain what it was about his answer - not just that he said yes, but how willing he was for it - but unable to do so without spilling words everywhere.

"I love you too, Kathy Li," Dante said, brushing her hair away from her face. "You never fail to keep life interesting."

She beamed at him again and this time didn't try to hide how bright he made her smile. "At some point, you're gonna give me the okay and I'm gonna word-wall at you about all the reasons I love you," she told him. "Cause there are a lot of reasons and they all have, like, explanations. "

"I'm not gonna stop you if you wanna like, annotate my awesome right now," Dante said, grinning back at her.

"I mean, you just used 'annotate' in a sentence," she said, leaning down to give him another soft kiss. "That's one reason right there." She gave him a grin. "So it's okay when I word-wall if it's in service of telling you how awesome you are?"

"Pretty much," Dante said, wiggling his eyebrows.

Kathy laughed and this time when she leaned down, it was to nip at his bottom lip. "Glad to see where the word-wall lines are drawn," she said. "One last question: serious!Kathy answers or playful!Kathy ones?"

They were being lighthearted and silly right now and she wouldn't blame him if he'd rather they kept it to, like, a five minute ode to how cute his butt was.

(Answer: extremely.)

"Why not a mix?" Dante said, and kissed her again. "I like both Kathys."

Kathy wasn't in any hurry to break that kiss, either. Telling Dante how great he was could wait a few extra minutes while she proved it with a kiss, first.

"Just in case you didn't want any serious!Kathy at all," Kathy said when they finally pulled away to breathe. She snuggled down onto his chest, chin resting on the backs of her hands. "Because serious!Kathy's first reason is just how much you make me feel like everything I think or say or do or want is important. You make me feel like I matter - more than that, like I'm valid. Like I'm enough. This is the first time I've ever felt that way in my whole life."

"'Cause you are," Dante said softly, watching her.

He couldn't resist playing with her hair while she spoke.

As far as Kathy was concerned, playing with her hair was an impulse he should never deny. It felt so good, both on her head and because touch was one of Kathy's love languages.

"You just so easily said yes to me right then," she murmured. "Not just yes, but 'I'd love to.' So easily, so enthusiastically, just because a Lip Sync battle I watched gave me the good tingles. And that's just who you are, Dante. An easy and enthusiastic yes to everything just because it makes me happy."

"You shoulda gotten more yeses in your life," Dante said, his fingertips skimming along her cheek before they swept her hair back again. "Besides, I always wind up having fun, 'cause you have good ideas."

"And that's another thing I love about you," Kathy said. "You don't laugh when I go over the top with my ideas, even when they're dildos wrapped in Christmas paper and I'm dressed up in ridiculous costumes." She waggled her eyebrows at him. "And you go down on me really well."

Dante grinned. "Are you just listing off things I like doing now, or...?"

"You are unstinting in your giving of orgasms," Kathy said grandly. "Believe me, that is an important quality in all boyfriends, especially those with an Energizer Bunny girlfriend."

Her smile turned distinctly naughty. "And you let me indulge in my love of giving them in return," she added. "Whether it's riding your dick or sucking you off, mmm..." And now she was biting her lip.

Dante pressed his thumb against that bottom lip once she was done biting on it. "See, 's what I mean," he said. "Your ideas aren't crazy or weird or whatever. You just go all in. It's hot as fuck for anyone not stupid enough to get intimidated."

Kathy wrapped her lips about his thumb for a moment, sucking lightly on the tip while she regarded him. "I think high school Dante would have seen me in that ensemble and accused me of trying to hard," she said after a moment.

"You were more insecure about it back in high school," Dante said, after a short pause of his own. "Made it seem like you were just doing it 'cause that was how you thought people were supposed to do it, or something. I don't know."

He smiled at her. "Maybe I shoulda encouraged you more back then instead of making fun of it," he said. "Might've gotten here faster."
