33 Apocalypse Ave (and eventually to Limbo City), Friday Afternoon

Last week, Kathy had been an utter lump, eating ice cream and playing sad music and watching a lot of TV while she got used to life without the guys. This week wasn't actually much easier, but Kathy's tolerance for her own moping had run out and left her needing to do something that wasn't just dwell.

Fortunately, it wasn't like she was lacking in options. With the guys gone and Raven spending most of her time out in the woods, the house was just too big and full of memories. So she was moving back to the apartment above Luke's - along with Raven, at least nominally - and this week she'd really gotten her ass in gear when it came to packing. Most of the upstairs was packed, even if those boxes were still mostly stacked downstairs, and now she was just cleaning out their old rooms of the detritus the always seemed to accumulate under furniture and in corners.

Like this old credit card bill of Dante's from...April of 2017. Kathy snorted and rolled her eyes, preparing to toss it into the bin that was half-full of junk when she noticed that one of the items on there was in Hangul. Wait. Had Dante been learning stuff in Korean?

Wait. 김치 크림 파이. Was that a-- Kathy grabbed her phone and did a quick search and yep. It was pretty much exactly the kind of website she'd been expecting with a name like that. Definitely didn't have to do with desserts, that was for damn sure.

"Oh." She wasn't entirely sure what to make of it, especially since that was back when everything had still been really...rough...between them. They'd been friends, in a tentative kind of manner, but no more. So then why...?

"Hi, Portalocity? I've got a portal scheduled to Limbo City for later on this evening, but I was wondering, could I bump it up to earlier than that? Something this afternoon would be good, yeah."

Dante released a hot breath over her wet skin, his fingers sliding obediently up between her legs.

Two, at first. Give her a moment to adjust, even as he laved attention on her most sensitive skin.

Filthy promises interspersed with needy noises filled the small space of the shower. God, Kathy was close enough she might just come on two, since it wasn't like she was waiting for the third. Three just filled her up better.

Red marks streaked her arms and chest and breasts where she'd clutched herself just to keep standing, keep going and her nails had scored over pale skin. Her hair curled around her back and hips and the tops of her thighs, wet and heavy and clinging to everything.

But as long as she was moving - as long as she wasn't coming... Dante could try for three, that last finger pressing up against her skin before it joined the others in plunging into her wet heat.

Soaking her up.

He groaned against her at the thought of it, wanting badly to be hard again.

She made it to three. Hardly more than a stroke, an extra press against her inner walls, slick and gripping him so fucking tight -

Then she was gone, a long groan of his name as she toppled over the edge.

And forwards into him a bit, legs steadfastly refusing to support her weight anymore.

Dante's fingers slid out of her as soon as he realized he needed both hands to grip her hips.

He slid up, making sure she could lean her full weight on him if she needed to.

And she did, trusting him to support her without thinking twice. That's just what he did. She didn't even have to look to know he'd be there. He wasn't just her boyfriend that way, he was her partner.

Kathy slid down his body into the tub, still letting him hold her up, and wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight. Words were unnecessary; besides, the only ones she could find were soppy as hell.

Dante kissed the top of her head. Kissed it again, just because he could, a smile clear on his face as much as the fondness shining from his eyes.

He did speak, eventually.

"You're never prettier than when you're like this."

His heart felt pretty full.

"All fucked out and exhausted?" Kathy teased, her own eyes closed and her face at rest. She never felt peaceful this way, except for when she was with her guys, happy just to exist.

"Like everything's okay with the world," Dante said softly.

"Because it is," she murmured, picking her head up to look at him. "You make it okay. You and Anders."

It wasn't even the sex, though the sex helped. It was just - she felt right with them. Like everything made sense, because she was where she was supposed to be.

"When I think of home, I think of you."

"I think of you too," Dante said softly. "Everything's all right in here when you come to visit."

"I-" She was all packed. She didn't have to move into the apartment. She could just -

Anxiety rose up, washing over her in a cold tide, making her shiver. For a second, she was falling over the side of the tower, the air rushing by her face and her heart in her throat.

She buried her face in his chest and just nodded.

"Hey," Dante said softly.

He touched her spine, let his fingers slide down.

She hadn't realized she'd tensed until she felt herself relax under his touch. "I'm here," she whispered.

An answer and self-reassurance both.

"I know," Dante said softly. "And next week I'll be there."

"Well, someone's gotta help me move that couch," she said, giving him a smile. "I just -"

She wished she could move here. She wished she could give him that. And felt guilty that she couldn't.

"Don't," Dante told her.

He kissed the top of her head again. "Just be anywhere with me."

She might have all the words, but damn if sometimes Dante didn't knew exactly what to say and put her words to shame.

"Always," she said, eyes dark on his. "I belong with you."

Dante smiled, and brushed her wet hair away from her face, and kissed her firmly.

Funny how kissing under a shower head was a lot like all the kisses in the rain that media had implanted in her head as romantic. She kissed him back, warm and deep.

"I should come over early more often if this is how you're always gonna greet me."

Dante laughed softly. "Now you jinxed it," he said. "Next time you show up you're gonna find me passed out on some pizza."

"So like any other day," Kathy teased. "I almost didn't recognize you upright and not sprawled out in a pizza box fort."

Dante sighed oh-so-loudly. "You are the worst," he said, skimming his fingers over her side in what could only very charitably be called a hint of a tickle.

"With all that truth-telling I do?" Kathy said, smirking. She didn't even squeal at his fingers, it just felt nice against her skin. "I'm sorry you're wrong."

"I am totally right," Dante told, kissing her again. "See if I shampoo your hair now."
