33 Apocalypse Ave, Saturday Morning

For a moment after her alarm went off, Kathy had no idea why she'd even set it. It was the weekend, she had neither work nor class today, she could sleep late if she wanted to. And, slapping blearily at her beeping phone, Kathy very much wanted to. She was warm, lying in a tangle of bodies, still more than a little tired from the night before, which had included a much better resolution that last year's prom.

Oh. Right. Prom. The wheels in her brain started to slowly turn as she put two and two together. Alarm. Unlocked front door. Day after prom. Yes.

"Get up," she said, poking at whoever was closest. "Kids are probably coming. C'mon, get up."

She wanted to be dressed and making breakfast by the time the inevitable horde descended on the house, dammit. But she wasn't going to be doing it alone.

"Get up or I swear I will send the first kid who shows up to come and wake you up proper."

Kathy that was just mean.

"What?" Kathy asked, confused. "When do I ever even see you as a guy?" she asked. "Other than when you're that big beefy dude to punch people sometimes."

Had Raven been turning into a guy without her noticing? Just how far out of the loop was she?

"Oh come on," Raven said, and shifted into the boy version of her blonde disguise. "You've definitely seen this at least once."

"And he's hot!" Kathy argued. "But, like, I saw him once. And I'm pretty sure I was all kinds of still messed up at the time."

"So . . . you do want to sleep with me?"

Raven was very conflicted right now.

And Kathy was making some truly impressive strangled noises. "I'm just saying that I was too messed up then to really be focused on this you's bangability!" she hissed, like saying it quietly might keep their alternate universe son from hearing her. "Are we really talking about this now?"

[tigerundercover]

"You're the one who got all defensive about whether or not you'd like me as a boy," Raven pointed out. "You shouldn't tease a girl like that, Kath, I pined for you for, like, months!"

[spin_kick_snap]

"Okay, but you did not turn into a hot dude when you were still pining for me, did you?"

WHY WERE THEY HAVING THIS CONVERSATION, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

"I was still getting used to being blue in public when I was pining for you. You know, like you told me to."

[spin_kick_snap]

"Well you can't get all weird at me for not hitting on you as a dude if you weren't being a dude while you still wanted me to hit on you!"

...What even was grammar at this point?

[tigerundercover]

"When was I weird? I just mentioned it!"

[spin_kick_snap]

"It was the way you said it!"

Kathy was now well and truly flustered.

[tigerundercover]

"Okay, look," Raven said, putting up her hands and trying to deescalate a little. "Do you wanna hook up like this or not? 'Cause right now I could go either way."

"Oh my god, Raven!" Kathy said, her hands over her face. "We are not having this conversation right now!"

She gestured at Aidan who was watching them avidly.

"It's okay," Aidan said, grinning. "Maybe that's why I'm here! Maybe I hook my moms up in the past so they can have me in the future!"

Raven looked over at Aiden, then back at Kathy. “Do kids not want to hear this stuff? You know I never really had parents!”

She was also out of practice pretending to be civilized in general.

"I'm still good!" Aidan assured them. "I hear way worse at home!"

Kathy threw her hands up in defeat. "Raven, if it were just us, then yeah, I would probably hook up with you as a dude. But if you remember, I'm not hooking up with anyone right now!"
