So, technically, Kathy's plan was to make tacos for dinner, but no one would know that from the state of the kitchen. She'd decided to make homemade guacamole (because what were tacos other than tasty vehicles for guac?) and now all the taco fixings were kind of pushed off to one side while she finished mashing up the avocados and chopping the cilantro and prepping the other stuff.

And texting Dante, because making tacos was the perfect opportunity for jokes, right? Especially with her shoulder still a little red from Pride?

Looking forward to putting all the tacos into my face tonight, she said, continuing their lazy conversation. No more sausage for me, but tacos are always the way to my...heart.

"Man, you'd be doing the sunscreen-rubbing, not the other way around?" Dante said. "Feminism has failed you."

"What do you think you're for?" Kathy snorted. "I did say my ideal vacation, didn't I?"

"Oh, so that's the pecking order around here? No way," Dante said, shaking his head. "Anders can cover the sunscreen parts."

"He'll be covering yours," Kathy said, shaking her head at him. "Keep up. Besides, what's wrong with covering me in sunscreen, huh? Tons of people would kill for that job!"

"Hey, if you wanna build your own army of groveling sycophants, be my guest," Dante said, waving at her. "I only play henchman in the sack."

He leaned back against the counter again, looking her over.

"And behind the table at Pride," Kathy reminded, stretching out and propping her legs up on the next chair. "And if we're all rubbing each other down, it's not really henching, is it?"

"I don't know," Dante said, tilting his head. "Think it might be. But if you wanna come over here and convince me..."

As argumentative as Kathy could be, never let it be said she couldn't obey with alacrity under the right circumstances. And Dante making that suggestion definitely counted as the right circumstances.

"I think I can see the merit in that," she said,swinging her legs back down to push herself up and slowly saunter over to him. "How amenable are you to persuasion? Should I break out the big guns, you think?"

There was that box from Site's, discarded on the table, that had never made its way back to her room.

"I don't know," Dante said, his mouth curving into a slow smile as he watched her approach with interest. "You're the expert."

And after the conversation they'd had, he had plans.

Oh lord. If Dante was going to get creative, Kathy might not survive it.

But, oh, what a way to go.

"Maybe a demonstration is the way to go," she said, pursing her lips in thought. "Something to show you just how fun my idea can be." Her hands found his hips, resting her palms on the curve of bone while her fingers snaked under his shirt and lightly traced over his skin. "I mean, fan it really be that bad, getting our hands all over each other?" Her face tilted towards his in invitation.

"No," Dante agreed, cupping her cheek with one hand. "Not really."

He leaned in and kissed her. It was slow, and it was gentle.

Kathy yearned up into his kiss, clutching at his sides as her knees went a little weak. She licked up into his mouth, molding her body against his. She sighed in her throat and lost herself in the gentleness.

Dante slid his free arm around her waist, offering some extra support. His mouth moved under hers, unhurried.

He figured he owed her a little more reassurance today.

She'd argue that he didn't owe her anything--before she'd take it anyway.

Her hands slide up his chest, nails skimming over his skin, light and teasing. It was an interesting change of pace, slow and unhurried and willing to take their time. Her foot slid around his calf and she raised herself up so that hand on her waist slid down to her ass.

"Is that a hint?" Dante said softly against her mouth, barely giving her time to respond before he kissed her again.

"Mmmhmm," Kathy hummed absently, though that would likely have been her answer to anything that wasn't 'should I stop?' Her nails got a little more insistent along the planes of his chest, though, and her hips pressed against his.

Dante sighed against her mouth, as she tried to wreck his entire plan of keeping this nice and slow and steady.

His hands slid back up under his own control, settling on her hips. He took a step forward, guiding her in the direction he thought he'd seen her drop off the box.

She wasn't doing it intentionally! But, damn, Dante was a good kisser. She made a disappointed noise when he started moving as she had to unwrap her foot from his leg. Thank you, uncanny balance, for making it possible to be kissed silly and walked backwards at the second time.

The box lay on the table, half-hidden by several bowls of taco ingredients, on its side. Not that Kathy was paying attention to anything but his mouth leisurely devouring hers.

Dante was paying just enough attention to pluck it off the table as they passed. "Bedroom," he said, nipping gently at Kathy's jaw.

"Oh god yes," Kathy groaned. She pulled away so she could concentrate on the difficult job of walking--then immediately lunged back to bite at his neck, sucking the soft skin up between her teeth.

Dante couldn't repress the whimper that escaped his mouth, his hand settling on Kathy's arm. "Someone's fired up," he said, moving towards her bedroom with a little more haste.

"Someone else knew what he was in for when he started kissing me," Kathy retorted, her tongue poking at the red skin. She kissed him again in the hallway, back pressed against her bedroom door as her free hand groped for the knob to open it up and let them both spill inside.

Dante laughed softly. "And here I thought I was going slow," he said.

He slipped past her, finally pulling free, mostly so he could put the box on her nightstand.

"You are," Kathy assured him. "You'll notice we're not naked." Brushing her hair back, she added, "I'm not trying to rush you. I just needed a chance to...say hello maybe?"

With her teeth.

"Is that how they say hello in Korean?" Dante asked, knocking the top off the box.

Then he flopped back onto her bed.
