Apartment Above Lukes, Christmas Day

Kathy had gone slightly less Christmas!Kathy this year, in part because her apartment was smaller. But there was a tree - the largest she could fit in her apartment - and decorations up everywhere that wasn't low enough for Ronin's tail to knock over. Most of the tree was covered in decorations she'd bought last year, but on the front were two very important ornaments, a half-burned clay pine tree, clumsy and made by a child, and six delicate metal fans knotted on a length of fishing wire.

There were Christmas carols playing softly through speakers, cookies and cocoa (and stuff to spike it with) on platters on the table, and presents waiting to be unwrapped under the tree. But, more importantly for the moment, there was a blanket on the couch and a dog looking for cuddles, and a moment of peace during the hectic holidays was a gift not to be squandered.

That pain didn't blossom, it went deep, stirring up nerves, drawing all of his attention down to one sharp line across his body. Dante let out a moan, his eyes sliding shut to ward off other input.

What happened was that Dante sucked in a breath and opened his eyes back up. That had been a spark, too quick to linger.

"Havin' fun?" he sighed.

Kathy gave him a shy smile and nodded. "Are you?" she asked. "Anything you want me to do?" Her expression turned sly. "Not too shy to ask, are you?"

Dante laughed softly. "Having fun," he agreed. "But you're the first person to come at me with sharp objects, babe."

Beat.

"...in a naked fun way."

Kathy chuckled. "I mean, I know we don't always mean the things we say when we're in that space, you know? But I got a sense that you kinda meant it when you talked about wanting sharp. So I thought..."

She shrugged, smiling a bit. "I thought this would be a good experiment."

"Not bad thinking," Dante mused, stretching his arm behind his head as he idly healed the scratches she'd already left. "I liked the first part."

"Any thoughts on what the second part should entail?" she asked, amused.

Dante grinned, sitting up. He reached for her wrist. "How about you put these pretty things back on me and push a little harder?"

"My poor sheets," Kathy teased, closing the distance between them with a kiss. Rather than putting her fingers back on his skin, she twined her arms around his neck.

And then, when she deepened the kiss, she sank the claws into his shoulders.

His skin flared up with heat, tight sensation shooting through him. He moaned against Kathy's mouth, his hands clenching before settling on her hips.

And then Kathy compounded it, dragging her hands down his back, trenching him to the hips.

That just wasn't fair. Dante's back arched, his body pressing against hers, and he had to abandon her mount just to whimper against her throat.

Oh fuck, that hurt, stole his breath away.

"I think when I'm done fucking with you," Kathy murmured in his ear, "you should fuck me while I clutch to you."

Dante made a muffled noise against her skin.

He sucked in a deep breath of air. "S-sounds like a plan, Kat."

"Lay back," Kathy said, removing her red-tipped claws from his back and using them to push at his chest, ten points of pain as they sank into his skin.

"Thought you were worried about your sheets," Dante mumbled, going gladly.

"You can buy me new ones," Kathy told him with a smile. "Save these for the next time the claws come out."

His reaction definitely encouraged more opportunities.

"It's a date," Dante said, his hands sliding up along her arms.

Then down, one palm cupping her breast.

"You don't mean getting me those sheets," Kathy said, arching into his hand. "You're already planning round two."

"Am I that obvious?" Dante asked.

He pressed a kiss against her neck, exploring her skin with his tongue.

"I think I should have gotten these sooner," Kathy whimpered, arching her neck. "Because you're taking to them like a man in a desert."

"Hey, fuck, even I didn't know I was into you cutting me up," Dante said, grinning at her. "Though I'm always into you vamping it up..."

He bit down, pressing his teeth into her shoulder.

Kathy cried out. She'd intended to slide down his body and suck his dick nice and hard, but not while his teeth were in her shoulder, sending alternating waves of pain and pleasure through to her core.

"I could wear these a lot, I think," she mumbled. "Just use 'em like better versions of my nails."

Dante pulled away from her shoulder and let out a breath, his mouth twitching into a smirk at the end.

"Just gotta make sure you keep 'em clean."
