"Ooooh, it's got an in-suite hot tub-slash-jacuzzi," Kathy said, reading from the room's amenities list, even as she sprawled out on the king-sized bed and could just go looking for said amenities. "And an in-room bar, flat screen color TV with premium cable package--no porn, though, sorry, gotta pay extra for that. 24-hour room and laundry service, in-suite massages, oh my god yes, and a seven-head luxury shower." She paused, thinking that over. "Might have to try that, hmm."

Sometimes you just had to get off the island for awhile, like right after your soul was partially eaten by a skinless tremens and you were now questioning whether or not you should ever drink again. That was, in fact, a very good time to leave the goddamn island, just to get your head on straight and remember that that kind of thing wasn't normal.

Right now, already in a bathrobe that was thick and warm and just a little too big for her, Kathy could almost pretend that the weekend hadn't happened at all. Except that she kept looking at the champagne resting in the bucket of ice and just kinda not feeling it.

"I'll have you know that many people found me resistible," Anders told Dante, a trace of mischief in his voice. (Granted, they'd mostly been in his own head, but what did that matter?) "And I'd love to see those diary pages sometime. Might help me out the next time I try to seduce a virgin."

"Why would you do that?" Dante sighed. "Virgins are hard."

"He has a point," Kathy said, having absolutely less than no intention of ever letting anyone see that old diary. "I was so difficult, it took me two attempts to lose mine."

"Really?" Anders said, barely raising his head from its spot on Dante's shoulder. "I would have thought Ezra knew how all of that worked."

Dante let out a soft snicker, patting Anders on the hip. "He got distracted the first go-around," he said. "If I remember the story right."

"Yup," Kathy said, moving through the water to come up next to Anders. "Wandered off leaving me on a blanket in the middle of the Preserve." She hooked her chin over his shoulder, brushing his cheek with a kiss. "So I was amply paid back for all my first kiss awkwardness."

"You were good at the kissing part," Anders told her, stroking her hair. "Just like you're good at everything else."

He was relaxing into the warm water, feeling almost boneless.

Dante watched them for a moment with a smile on his face, happy to be squished up against Anders' side while Kathy was close like that.

"Or at least super eager to figure it out," he said, amused. "Fuck, you flipped me on my back like the second time we met."

"You said you liked it rough," Kathy said innocently. "I was testing that."

A pause, while she pressed a kiss to Anders' cheek.

"And how good you'd feel between my legs. Answer? Very."

"But you still kept him waiting before your pants came off," Anders reminded her. "I think you like the chase."

"Oh yeah, she had this whole thing about how I had to respect her this high to ride," Dante said, making big eyes at her past Anders' shoulder.

"I stand by it," Kathy said, nipping Anders' shoulder. "And not just because I enjoy the chase. I was serious about not being just another notch on someone's bedpost. Even someone as hot as you, Dante."

"Well, seems like you got your wish on that one," Anders said, amused. "Whatever we're doing here, it's not notch-on-the-bedpost territory. Even though I'd let either of you use me for sex anytime."

"I was gonna say, Anders didn't have a problem being a notch on my bedpost," Dante sighed loudly.

"See and at this point, I'd like to be used for sex by you two," Kathy said, leaning over to poke Dante. "But I had a few more hangups to get over before I was ready to be bedpost-bait."

Honestly, she still wasn't all that great at it. But she wasn't really in the market for random hookups anymore, was she?

"Anders is kind of a slut," the blond shrugged, petting Kathy's damp hair. "Kathy has higher standards. Besides, my world's less weird about sex than yours."

Dante poked Kathy back, stretching an arm out past Anders to do so.

Then he sank back into his seat, wedged up comfortably against him. "You run into a lot of stuff that weirded you out about Earth like that?"

"Slutty, but hot," Kathy teased, cuddling up next to him and swinging her legs up into Dante's lap. She didn't point out that Anders was the one Dante'd fallen for long time before Kathy. So clearly adorably slutty was good for a lot.

And, you know, she wanted to hear his answer.

"The technology," Anders offered reaching to rub Kathy's foot. "You're all bloody humans. Not that I ever knew a lot of dwarfs or elves, but it's strange you don't have any. I still halfway think they must be hiding somewhere. You're less religious every day, but the people who are> religious are a little bit crazy about it. And I still don't understand how your government works. So ... just a few things, yeah."

Dante snickered softly. "Aww. Our Anders has a problem with democracy," he said, fluffing up Anders' hair.

"Hell, our government has a problem with democracy," Kathy, diehard leftist, snorted. "So I mean, like, overall, he's making several decent points."

"If I were sucking anything right now, he wouldn't need you to tell him," Kathy teased, lazily leaning back while the boys splashed.
