Kathy had been doing some thinking recently, going over the activities that helped her cut through the noise in her brain. All of the ones she'd found so far involved the participation of other people and she needed to find something she could do by herself so she didn't have to keep bothering folks. And that had gotten her to thinking about the almost-reverie she'd slipped into on Dante's motorcycle. That was something she could potentially do for herself...except she'd need a bike of her own.

Or Dante could share his, but ahahahahano.

It wouldn't hurt to start looking for something like that, though, would it? Even if she didn't buy something right away, having an idea in her mind wouldn't hurt. She made her way towards the Causeway and sent a text at the same time. If she were going shopping, she should consult an expert, right?

"You're the worst, Kathy Li," Dante decided, stretching in his seat. "The absolute worst."

"Enh, you wouldn't know what to do with me if I were nice all the time," Kathy scoffed. "Other than, like, side-eye me and wander away."

"True," Dante allowed. "I mean, you're pretty hot when you're mean."

"So, when you say you like it rough, you don't just mean nails," Kathy surmised, looking over at him with a fond smile. "Like, you want someone to give you shit, bite you a little, make fun of your face, and then go hard. Good to know."

In everything else, Dante'd been learning otherwise over the past year.

Dante's smirk was filthy. "Hey, I know any jokes you make about my face aren't true."

It would take a great deal for Kathy to ever say anything like that in earnest.

"Oh really?" The obvious answer was because Dante was fucking gorgeous and everyone knew it. But that smirk stirred her...curiosity, sure. "And why is that?"

"Don't remember you complaining when you rode it just now," Dante said, eyes bright.

And here, Kathy was torn between cracking wise and not rocking the boat. She held up a finger and opened her mouth to tease, then subsided. Sure, Dante knew how to take a joke and they'd been joking all the way up to this point, but in the end, she still wasn't sure enough of her footing to say, Well, yeah, because your mouth was occupied.

Even though she knew that Dante would get it. Ugh.

She also dismissed Maybe it was a fluke, I should try again to see for sure.

In the end, that left her with, "Hey now. Making fun of your face and making fun of your skills are two different things."

"Hate to break it to you, but my face's pretty important to these skills."

"The structure, not the composition," Kathy retorted, finding the rhythm of their conversation again. "Or are you going to tell me you couldn't eat pussy that well if you weren't so damn pretty?"

Hey Dante. Remember the time you had to cajole her into saying that word?

"Nah," Dante mused. "But don't tell me you don't like a face as pretty as mine eating you out 'till you come all over it."

"Dante, when I'm coming all over your face, what you look like might not be the furthest thing from my mind, but it's pretty far out there," Kathy said, snorting. "Now, when I'm just imagining it, however...yeah, I guess your face might help do it for me."

Though, at this point, that was equal parts because it was pretty and because it was his.

"See," Dante said, shrugging slightly. "I got nothing to worry about when it comes to my face."

"Like you ever were worried in the first place," Kathy said quietly, shaking her head and looking around for something to toss at his head. Her panties would do, sure. "You're gorgeous all over and you know it."

Dante caught her panties effortlessly, swiping them out of the air. "I know it, you know it," he mused, taking a quick whiff of the fabric just for effect before tossing it back.

And causing Kathy to turn bright crimson like it was suddenly 2014 again and she'd just been caught swearing by a teacher.

Dante raised his eyebrows at her, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Shut up," she mumbled, shoving her underwear beneath her like hiding them was somehow going to make this better.

Dante let out a sharp laugh - look, he'd won this one. "Let's get our pants on and go home," he decided. "I'm getting hungry again."

"I could eat," Kathy said, still red but happy with the change of topic. "I'll drive that bike you got me home and see if I like it?"

And if she didn't, she'd just put a sign on it, like Free to a good home or something.

"And we'll leave the car here," Dante said. "If it's still here in another day or so, it was meant to be yours, right?"

"I can't keep this car," Kathy said, though way her fingers lingered on the leather said otherwise. "It's too...much, you know? Especially since I'm barely ever going to drive it anyway."

"How is it too much?" Dante asked, frowning. "It's just a car." A cool car, but still.

"A super-expensive car!" Kathy said, wide-eyed. "Fast and meant to be driven and appreciated, not stuck in a parking lot for months on end. It was built for people like...people like..."

People like super-rich jackasses? People with a bunch of cars that never got driven? People who weren't her? Was she really arguing she wasn't good enough for a car? One they'd rescued from a chop shop?

"I...don't think I have a good answer to that question."

"Cars are built for whoever's driving them," Dante opined, slanting a look at her. "Everything else is stupid bullshit. I thought calling out the patriarchy or whatever was your jam."
