The Causeway to Baltimore, Thursday Afternoon

Kathy had been doing some thinking recently, going over the activities that helped her cut through the noise in her brain. All of the ones she'd found so far involved the participation of other people and she needed to find something she could do by herself so she didn't have to keep bothering folks. And that had gotten her to thinking about the almost-reverie she'd slipped into on Dante's motorcycle. That was something she could potentially do for herself...except she'd need a bike of her own.

Or Dante could share his, but ahahahahano.

It wouldn't hurt to start looking for something like that, though, would it? Even if she didn't buy something right away, having an idea in her mind wouldn't hurt. She made her way towards the Causeway and sent a text at the same time. If she were going shopping, she should consult an expert, right?

"Like, motorcycles individually, or just times on a bike?" Kathy asked. "Does that mean you're gonna let me ride yours sometime? I have experience."

"Both?" Dante suggested. "And nope. You've got your own now, you figure it out."

He reached back, patting her bike on the front wheel.

"Would I have had a chance even if I didn't have my own?" she asked, raising an amused eyebrow his way while she started groping around for their clothing.

"Maybe if you asked me nicely?" Dante said, shooting her a winning smile.

He'd get his pants... sometime.

"I can be nice," Kathy said, a slow smile spreading over her face to respond to his. "I can be very nice."

"That's what all the pretty girls say," Dante said, leaning over to find his... shirt, yep.

"And all of us just trying to jump on your--" she winked "--motorcycle."

"Who can blame you?" Dante said, pulling his shirt over his head.

"She is a nice bike," Kathy said, reluctantly pulling her underwear out from beneath her to draw them on. "Looking forward to seeing how mine shakes out." Where was her bra? "What made you pick that one?"

Dante shrugged. "It looked cool," he said, stretching. "And fast."

"Oh, so a very scientific and thorough investigation," Kathy said with a straight face. "Good to know."

"The eye test is important in driving," Dante told her.

And tossed her bra at her.

"By which you mean, the 'looking good while riding' test, I assume," Kathy asked, giving her bra a small glare before putting it on. Just because, you know. Bra. "You should get dressed. Because lounging there naked is not a good way to convince me we should head back to the island any time soon."

Dante snickered. "Fine," he said, "If your impulse control is that shitty."

He reached for his pants, stretching his legs out the side of the car to put them back on.

"This is one of those times I can literally say 'I learned it from watching you," Kathy said, laughing.

Dante wiggled his eyebrows at her, then tugged his jeans on all the way to his hips.

Kathy watched Dante for a moment, eyes drawn to the slow side of fabric up his hips, then managed to drag her eyes away and shove on her shirt. "You laugh, but tell me I'm wrong."

"Hey, if I managed to get you to stop thinking too much about anything at all, I take that as a win," Dante said, running a hand through his hair to get it back into shape.

Kathy frowned thoughtfully at his hair. "It's getting longer," she said, leaning over to run her fingers through it. "Are you growing it all out?"

"Figured I wanted to try and see what it'd look like that way, yeah," Dante said.

Make him look a little less like Vergil in the mirror.

If Kathy had any ideas about what might be behind the change in hairstyle, she didn't give a sign of it, just continued putting her clothing back on. "Sometimes you've gotta make a change just to see what it's like," she agreed, pulling her own hair up into a ponytail for the ride home.

"If I wind up looking like low-rent Anders, tell me," Dante said, nudging open the door.

Kathy tried imagining Dante with Anders' hairstyle and laughed. "I promise you I will absolutely let you know if that happens," she said, leaning around the front seat to pop open the trunk before sliding through the door Dante had opened. "That or attack your hair in the night with scissors and styling gel."

"You got my consent to do that," Dante said, "If it gets that bad."

He scooped her bike out the back and set it down on the ground.

Kathy was once again struck anew by how gorgeous it was, sleek and pretty and fast-looking. "Good eye," she said, a little reverently. "Did she somehow come with keys or is there a special way I'm going to have to start her?"
