So, Anders had graduated and he and Dante were leaving for a two-week trip tomorrow. Kathy felt that was enough of a reason to splurge on a fancy dinner-date, so after putting in a ridiculous order for tapas downstairs (with enough to feed Raven, too, of course), she set about making her room into a romantic little evening hideaway. Her desk with a cloth over it made for a lovely table for two, candles scattered about gave the whole area a nice kind of ambiance, and while a pitcher of sangria wasn't the most romantic drink in the world, it was fruity and delicious and that was really what mattered. She turned her ipod on low and, confident that everything was ready, sent Anders a text:

Hey graduate. Shift almost up? Dinner's ready whenever you are. <3

"Good, 'cause I don't think you'd like getting screwed up the arse as much as he does," Anders said, and then wondered whether he'd crossed a line. He cleared his throat with a cough. "That is -- I want to go on a trip with you for you. Not because I did it with him. Promise. Where do you think you'd want to go?"

"As much? Almost certainly not," Kathy said, hopefully setting his mind to ease by laughing. "I mean, it's pretty sexy, but not something I can get off on by itself, so..." She spread her hands. "Dante is welcome to the lion's share of ass fuckings. Just not all, okay?"

She laughed again, helping herself to more veggie paella, and considered Anders' question. "I'm not sure," she said. "You're hitting up a lot of the places I'd go on this one," she said. "So I'd have to think about it more. The problem with America is that most of the country is actually kinda terrible and not worth visiting."

"We don't have to stay in America," Anders reminded her. "Portalocity doesn't ask for papers."

After he'd taken some more cheese, he added, "Anyhow, what's wrong with America? Just the politics, or something else?"

"Also politics, but most of it is boring," Kathy declared with the confidence of girl who'd lived her entire life on the coast. "It's flat and dusty and filled with, like, corn farms and tornadoes. The Rockies and the Grand Canyon sound cool, but most of the Midwest is known as flyover country for a reason. For vacations, I either want to go to a big city to explore and look around, or go somewhere pretty to rest and relax, like a cabin in the woods or the seashore or something."

"I could do a city or a cabin in the woods," Anders mused. (He took Kathy's statement on flyover country at face value. Maker knew, enough of Ferelden was farms and rain for him to sympathize.) "Or someplace warm where we don't have to wear real clothes."

"I definitely like that idea," Kathy said. It had been four years and she still hated winter. "Like a beach resort or something. I could definitely be down for lounging at the beach, convincing you to rub sunscreen on me every couple of hours, and having cute waiters bring us drinks."

"Sounds fantastic," Andrs said, and kissed the tip of her ear. "And a lot more relaxing than driving across the country a second time."

She smiled at the kiss, then turned to claim one of her own. "Maybe after this first session is over?" she suggested. "We can go to one of those all-inclusive resorts in, like, Mexico or something. Do a couple of day trips to swim with dolphins or poke at ruins and spend the rest of the time on the beach?"

She kissed him again. "Or in our hotel room?"

"Yes to all of those things," Anders said, and returned her kiss with a firmer one. "Though one of them sounds extra-good right now."

"Oh?" Kathy asked, nails gliding gently down the insides of his arms. "Have you discovered a newfound love of archaeology?"

Kathy, no one needed your weird humor right now.

"You figured it out," Anders said easily as he set his plate aside. "Old buildings and history turn me on."

"I'm very historical," Kathy said, batting her eyelashes at him. "Have you ever noticed how historical I am?"

She deliberately stretched, arching her chest out towards him. "Wanna see my flying buttresses?"

Anders cracked up, laughing into his hands.

"Yes," he said, when he recovered. "And I've heard you have quite a solid foundation I'd like to inspect, too."

This was one of the things she loved best about being with Anders: the ability to just be silly and ridiculous and her. It was why they'd been friends for so long first and why she'd so easily slipped into loving him later.

"You can inspect me anytime," she told him, waggling her eyebrows. "...I can't come up with another architecture pun right now, dammit."

So she settled ('settled') for kissing him again.

"I wouldn't want to start taking your ability to pun for granite, anyhow," Anders said, which was more a building material pun than an architecture one, but did it matter when they were kissing before she could have pointed that out?

If anything, that pun was getting him kissed harder. Kathy was hardly going to nitpick just because a good pun (or a bad one) was only mostly thematically appropriate.

She brushed his hair back from his face, taking a moment to commit every feature to memory, before leaning back in to kiss him again. "Still hungry?" she murmured.

"Not for food," Anders returned, after the kiss broke several moments later. "Bedroom?"

"Yes," Kathy groaned, standing up and reaching for his hand. "I need that three weeks worth of orgasms you promised me." When he stood, she tugged him close, pressing her body against his. *You feel good against me."

"Bet it'd feel even better if we were wearing fewer clothes," Anders said, hands already roaming along her torso. "Easier to get started on the orgasms that way, too."

"You know why I love you?" Kathy asked, her hand reaching down to stroke him through his pants. "You always have such great ideas."

Still kissing and caressing him, she led Anders to her bedroom, where electric candles gave the room a warm ambiance, and closed the door firmly behind them. Tonight, there was him and there was her and nothing and no one else.

"Now then, where were we?" she asked with dark eyes.

"You were telling me what great ideas I had," Anders informed her, eyes widening in appreciation as he spread his hands over her breasts. "Which I appreciate, because you have some amazing ideas yourself."

"I'm pretty sure your most recent brilliant idea involved us losing more clothing...?" Kathy asked, like she wasn't certain. "I know I'm looking forward to getting you out of your clothes." She leaned in, pushing his collar away so she could skim her teeth over the skin of his throat. "And then appreciating you and your 'good ideas' for the rest of the night."

Anders laughed softly and skimmed his hands down to lift the bottom of her shirt. "There's no way I can argue with that idea."

Kathy arched under his hands, then tried to angle him back towards her bed. "I want to straddle you while you undress me," she whispered. "And then strip you naked have have my way with you. That okay?"

"More than okay," Anders told her as he sank down into the bed and beckoned for her to get closer. "It sounds like the perfect dessert."
