Devil May Cry, Limbo City, Thursday Morning

For the last...month? Or so? Dante (and sometimes Anders, but usually Dante, his chest was broader), had gotten to experience the joy of falling asleep with a two-foot tall bouncy antelope kneeling on his chest. Look, between that, the nigh-constant sproinging, and the fact that his cat repeatedly picked fights with his girlfriend because she was snotty and spoiled (unclear pronoun used deliberately), and it had really just been a great goddamn month for the residents of DMC.

At some point the stranglehold the world has had on my brain whimsy of Fandom finally eased, leaving girl behind where klipspringer used to be.

Still curled up on Dante, though, and now significantly heavier. Because why should the universe give that guy a break?

"Yeah, yeah, you were innocent and my cat isn't," Dante said, poking her.

"Exactly," Kathy said. "Thank you for finally understanding."

"Lying," Dante said.

"She's a menace!"

Especially when she was almost as big as you were!

"I'm a klipspringer for a month and this is the love I get." Kathy's life was truly the hardest.

"Hey, it's not my fault the first thing you decided to do when you got back to normal was try to get me to betray my cat," Dante retorted.

"I tried to snuggle, but you pushed me," Kathy said, continuing to give him the saddest eyes.

"Because you were right on top of me!"

"Usually you appreciate that!"

"Not when you were a tiny deer like five seconds before that," Dante said, grinning.

"I think you'd appreciate it more that way," Kathy sniffs, her eyes sparkling. She'd rather bicker with Dante than be in perfect agreement with almost anybody else. "I have me-parts again."

"Yeah, and I'm gonna need more than a few seconds to adapt to how much heavier you are," Dante said, poking her in the hip.

"You can life up cars," Kathy argued, trying to bat at his hand. "That's fine. My other boyfriend is the nice one."

She stuck her tongue out at him.

"You were just the comfy one. With all those apparently useless muscles."

"Yeah, tell me that next time you need to sweep under the closet or something," Dante sniffed.

"Right, because we're always lifting up, closets," Kathy teased. "I'm not even sure you missed me that much."

At this point, she had pretty much wrapped herself around him.

"Nope, not much," Dante agreed, sliding his arms around her. "I got to eat all the cake I wanted."

"I'm going to go back to my own room," she threatened. "Since I'm just getting sassed here."
