Kathy hadn't cooked much since the housewarming party where she'd discovered just how really not okay she was with meat. Heating up leftovers and microwaving pre-made meals didn't really count and yet, here she was trying to make a meal that wasn't too spicy (Anders), or too vegetable-y (Dante), but that she would be okay with eating, too.

In the end, she ended up making a bunch of dough, prepping a bunch of veggies (and fetching some meat from downstairs, though she made the staff prep that), and getting some jars of pasta sauce. First, she made some dim sum to eat as hearty appetizers while they all pitched in for the main course:

Personalized pizzas with a variety of handwavy toppings. Everyone could make what they wanted and nobody was stuck eating anything they didn't. One day, Kathy would like to make a real Korean dinner, complete with banchan and everything, but baby steps. She figured tonight would be better if she just kept everything as simple as possible.

Okay, the dessert of a strawberry-covered chocolate mousse cake hadn't been simple, exactly, but she knew her audience. She figured they'd appreciate that kind of complicated.

Now just to wait for them arrive. Hmm, what paired well with pizza? And also soothing jangling nerves?

Ah right. Dark and stormies. Kathy went to fetch the ginger beer and limes while she waited for the guys to arrive.

Dante let out a breathless laugh, finally sinking backwards, off his knees and on his ass. "Fuck yeah," he agreed.

Other words were complicated.

"We still have it," Anders said, lazily triumphant. "Thank fuck."

Kathy offered a shy smile at that. She agreed and wholeheartedly so, but wasn't sure if that was something she should say aloud. It might be too...something.

And that smile was replaced by widened eyes a moment later. "Dante's pizza!" she yelped, scrambling up to her feet and over to the stove to rescue it. Fortunately it was just a little dark around the edges. "It's okay!" she announced.

It would have been an acceptable sacrifice otherwise because damn that really had been exceptional.

Dante blinked at the sudden movement. "What the-- oh, fuck."

At least Kathy had the pizza problem handled so he didn't have to jump up. He didn't really want to; he'd be happy leaning on Anders for a while. "It's alive?"

"The pizza, or our ability to have an amazing threesome?" Anders asked, eyes crinkling as he smiled. "I'd be a little worried if Kathy's oven is bringing pizzas to life."

Kathy put the pizza down on the counter to cool and then headed back over to the guys, sitting down a few inches further away than she'd been before. Lines were being drawn and re-drawn and she didn't want to presume--or worse, trespass--until she had a better idea of where they'd settle. "I might wait to put yours in," she told Anders. "Because getting distracted mid-whatever by the smell of burning pizza isn't how I'd planned to spend the evening."

"I mean is the pizza still edible," Dante complained, though leaning up to kiss Anders' neck probably wasn't discouraging him from sassing while Dante's brain was rebooting.

He turned his head up to roll his eyes at Kathy. "I think there's time before our dicks wake back up, Kat."

"I'm too happy to be in a hurry," Anders added, wrapping a hand around Dante's waist. "For anything."

"No, I'm not--" Kathy shook her head and stood up again, going to the fridge and getting a bottle of water out. She finished half of it in a gulp and then grabbed two more to hand over to the guys. "Never mind. Here, Anders, I'll put yours in."

Dante debated the merits of getting up.

For the moment, he'd just take that bottle from Kathy and spend the next few moments wriggling the rest of the way out of his clothes - shoes and pants.

Anders sipped at his water slowly, eyes still on Dante. He felt entirely sated and lazy.

"So you're thinking the rest of tonight is a no-pants occasion?" he teased Dante lightly.

Kathy wasn't going to argue with that, sliding Anders' pizza into the oven and setting the timer. "Sounds like a plan to me," she murmured, efficiently slicing Dante's pizza into pieces before setting it down beside him.

Okay, they had food, water, what else was she supposed to do to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy and...something?

It was like she was trying to fret away her own afterglow.

"I'm thinking," Dante said, draping his arm over Anders' shirt, "That we get these pizzas done as soon as possible so we can take 'em into Kathy's bedroom and get our naked asses out of Raven's way."

"Raven probably doesn't need to walk in on an orgy," Anders agreed. "Besides, beds are comfortable ... wait is the three of us an orgy, or do we need more people?"

"I think orgies require at least four people," Kathy said, though of everyone in the kitchen, she had the least experience with group sex. "Fourgy, you know?" She started cleaning up the toppings from the kitchen counter to put them away in the fridge.

"And, err...maybe it was presumptuous," she added, giving them tentative glances as she found tupperware lids and the like, "but there was a reason I got a king-size bed when we were shopping at Ikea. We should all be comfortable there."

"Didn't we say at least five when we had that foursome?" Dante asked, racking his mind to remember both the conversation and the foursome.

... Shut up. You spent too much time trying to get laid.

"... Fivesome. Right, it was a fivesome."

He reached for a slice of pizza.

Anders frowned and started counting on his fingers. "If you mean that time in Baltimore, I count five," he said helpfully. "But I was kind of drunk."

To Kathy, he said, "I'm glad you got a king bed. It'll make sleepovers much less awkward."

"Yeah, pretty sure that's an orgy," Kathy said wryly, putting the toppings away and scrawling a quick note for Raven on the magnet-mounted whiteboard on the fridge door. "And yeah, that's what I was thinking. That it might be nice if everyone got a bit of space to themselves, but still together."

"Pass out without getting plastered against each other," Dante mused. He tilted his head towards Anders. "Maybe we should push the beds together permanently."

"I've been thinking that," Anders admitted. "I just didn't want to ask when I know you can don't particularly like cuddling. But one big bed would make some things easier."

Kathy stayed quiet; this wasn't her discussion to have. But she was thinking of all the ideas of the future she'd had, back Before, and how they'd always involved a separate spot for Dante under the assumption that he'd never want something else.

God, she'd gotten so much wrong for so long. No wonder she felt she didn't know which way was up when it came to dealing with the guys. She really didn't.

Dante wasn't a big fan of assumptions, no matter the kind. He probably wasn't shattering them on purpose-- except maybe on some subconscious level.

He shrugged. "Been crashing over in your bed for a while now, no complaints," he said. "Bigger'll be easier."

"And it'd give us room for this lady, if we're allowed to let an older woman spend the night," Anders added with a retire to Kathy. "I like it. It'll be nice to be able to roll over without accidentally punching you in the ribs."

"Hey now," Kathy said, turning to give Anders a pretend pout. "No age jokes here. I'm practically your age now. And he--" she nodded at Dante "--makes us both cradle robbers."

"I keep telling him that," Dante said merrily. He finally let go of Anders and rose off the floor, taking his pizza with him.
