Housewarming Party! Apartment Above Luke's, Friday Afternoon Till Evening

Raven and Kathy were officially moved in!

Okay, not everything was done and most of their stuff was still at Eliot's, but they'd gotten a lot of work done painting and assembling furniture and most of what was left could be moved over a bit at a time. Which meant...it was close enough to being fully moved in that a small party was warranted. Especially if you were looking for a way to show you were nice, sane and adjusted a reason to party!

The party proper started at 6pm with plenty of delicious foods to enjoy, but people were more than welcome to come over early and help with the remaining wall painting and furniture assembling there was to do. Help was appreciated, but mostly people were invited to over to eat, relax, and help make this new place feel like a real home.

Ringo smirked. "Aren't you supposed to bring, like, tribute or something?"

Kathy waved at the dinner table. "What do you think this is?" she asked. "Could it be anything else but fitting tribute to your wonder and amazingness."

Ringo snickered. "I don't know. This seems like the sort of thing you might set up for an apartment-warming party."

Ringo raised her chin, trying to look down her nose at Kathy imperiously.

It worked about as well as you'd expect such a gesture from Ringo to work.

"I'm saying you need to step up your tribute game."

Kathy just remained, you know, taller than Ringo and smirked a little bit. Good job, Ringo. You tried.

"And what kind of tribute would be fitting, do you think? Just so I have some idea what I should be shooting for."

She pouted. "Wait, so you expect me to be super-awesome, and to give you good ideas?"

"Isn't having good ideas part of being super-awesome?" Kathy asked. "Ringo, it almost sounds like you're not sure how to be super-awesome!"

Ringo tried to come up with a good comeback, but ended up settling on sticking her tongue out at Kathy.

Ringo wrinkled her nose at Kathy, then grinned. "Good thing I made an argument that's on your level, huh?"

"Ooooh, nice one!" Kathy congratulated with a laugh. "I see you leveled up in brat while I was gone."

That was totally a compliment, so Ringo beamed in response.

"I haven't had as many chances to practice," she admitted. "But, I mean, Dante's been around."

It totally had been! Kathy's deep dimples as she said that made it clear.

"Oh, so you've been getting tutored," she said, nodding. "Wanted to live up to your full brat potential."

"Soon enough, you'll have to get tips from me," Ringo smirked.

Then that smirk blossomed into a full-on grin. "But not yet. I've still got some brat stuff to learn from you, senpai."

"I have no doubt you'll be out-bratting me in no time," Kathy assured her. "I'm going against my own sweet inner nature anytime I'm a brat."

Ringo blinked, then started snickering, which then devolved into an uncontrollable giggle-fit.

Sorry, Kathy, she couldn't manage a witty response in her current state.

"See, right there we have it," Kathy said with a long-suffering sigh. "I'm being nice and you're being a brat."

There was more laughter as Ringo doubled-over trying to regain enough control to catch her breath.

Kathy took the opportunity to pile more salad onto Ringo's plate. Look, she worried about how many vegetables her friends had eaten while she'd been gone.

"Laugh all you want, we both know it's true."

Finally catching her breath, though still clearly short of it, Ringo sat up shaking her head.

"Oh yeah? Want to go ask anyone else in the room if they agree with you?"

"Absolutely," Kathy said staunchly. "You can ask pretty anyone else here and they'll all say I'm sweetness and light!"

Well...maybe Alluka would. Possibly Hardison. The rest...hard to say.
