Baltimore, Sunday Night

Banzai rarely patrolled Sunday nights, taking the night off to rest and prepare for the upcoming week, but since she'd bailed on patrolling on Friday, it seemed only fair to make up for it tonight instead. Crime around the club and various campuses would be lower, but there were still plenty of drug deals, muggings, and various other, more dangerous crimes for her to stop instead. And it wasn't like Banzai was going to miss spending extra time manhandling drunk idiots into cabs and breaking up fights in alleys over stupid bullshit the participants couldn't even remember four steps away from the club itself.
The Ukranian mafia had all but vanished from the city over the past few months; apparently losing the Butcher was enough to convince them that Baltimore wasn't worth the effort. In a way, Banzai almost missed them; they were good practice for when she'd be going up against the Seventeens in LA eventually. Patrolling around Stanford (if she got in, please God let her get in) probably wasn't going to be all that much effort, so she was already making plans to portal down to LA proper at least once a month to get in a proper patrol.
Spotting Jewels, one of the working girls that was part of Banzai's loose confederation of informants, Banzai swung down from the rooftop to land on light feet nearby. Always good to check in, see if Jewels had heard of anything going down, make sure that no one was bothering her, pass along money and supplies to stay in Jewels' good graces, all that good stuff.
It felt good to get out and patrol. For all her speeches about wanting to do good for the people around her and make the world a better place, Banzai had to admit that the real reason she ran around in rainbows with a bokken on her back and rope darts in her belt was a lot more selfish. What could she say?
She loved this.

Date: 2016-03-15 07:11 am (UTC)Look, she didn't do boxing much. Or wrestling. Or...any other kind of fights in rings.

Date: 2016-03-15 07:20 am (UTC)Paused.
Smirked.
What? Good memories.

Date: 2016-03-15 07:26 am (UTC)"I have a rule," she said. "No threesomes without me sleeping with the other two people individually already." Biting her lip, she added, "Besides, you smile at him like that and he won't even notice what I do."

Date: 2016-03-15 07:27 am (UTC)... She was probably right.
"Though that was fun."

Date: 2016-03-15 07:47 am (UTC)Just making sure that was clear--even if, yeah, it was more convenient for Kathy to come down.
"I also accept invites by text. Or dirty pictures."

Date: 2016-03-15 07:59 am (UTC)That had been a fun discovery, to say the very least.
"We're, uhh, going to prom together," she added. Casually. "You should see if Ez will take you. Or Isabela maybe? Is she a junior? Then we can all be there together."

Date: 2016-03-15 08:03 am (UTC)Was her and Anders going to prom something he had to remark on? Like, that didn't seem like a surprise.

Date: 2016-03-15 08:09 am (UTC)"You'd go with someone as a real date?" Kathy asked, surprised. "See, I figured that wouldn't be your scene. I assumed you
d be more willing to go mostly stag and seeing who you could pick up in a fancy dress."
Which was why Kathy hadn't just invited him along weeks ago. She'd've rather no date than a date who didn't want to be a date.

Date: 2016-03-15 08:13 am (UTC)He took another sip from his bottle. "And then I'd be sure to get laid afterwards."

Date: 2016-03-15 08:22 am (UTC)Now Kathy was tempted to make one for Dante. Just because.

Date: 2016-03-15 08:24 am (UTC)They were hitting the oversharing hours, clearly.
"I should wear the corset again." In this hypothetical scenario where he'd actually be at prom, yes.

Date: 2016-03-15 08:29 am (UTC)The thunk of the first plate hitting the table surprisingly loud--like it had been dropped from a slightly higher distance than had been intended. Their server's expression, changing from intrigued to embarrassed suggested that that was the case indeed. "Oh, uhh, sorry!" he said, pulling out a napkin to wipe up the burger juice that had spattered the side of the plate and a bit of the table. "Didn't mean to--uhh. I have your food."
Way to play it casual, dude.

Date: 2016-03-15 08:36 am (UTC)"It's here, that's all we care about," Kathy assured him. "Though we will take two of--what did you call them? Angel's Tits?" She looked at Dante for confirmation. "We'll have two of those, please."
Look! Only a little smile!

Date: 2016-03-15 08:44 am (UTC)"What the lady said," he agreed. "But you don't have to rush 'em through, take your time."

Date: 2016-03-15 08:48 am (UTC)...Nah, that pun was actually too easy.
"Yeah, we'll be working our way through this for awhile," Kathy said as their server dubiously set four of the burgers in front of her, then arranged her sides out in a fan beyond them. "Though another beer to wash this all down with would be appreciated, too."

Date: 2016-03-15 08:50 am (UTC)"It's good beer," Dante said easily. He'd taken the smirk down a notch, though it wasn't gone yet, and he was watching the guy set things out rather obviously.
(no subject)
Date: 2016-03-15 09:01 am (UTC)Though if he left to go do that while Kathy still had plenty of food, she could probably entertain herself for however long they were busy. Though there would be such judging when he got back.
The guy noticed Dante watching and gave him a smile, making sure their fingers brushed as he handed Dante one of his burger plates. "Two more beers, followed by two Angel's Tits," he repeated. "Anything else I can get for you?"
