"I was never so happy as those couple of months," Kathy said, still not able to meet his eyes quite yet. "This is a different kind of happy, a deeper one maybe, but it's a more complicated one, too."
There was still the shadow of everything that had gone before hanging over her. Whether it affected the guys or not, she didn't know, but she still felt it.
