Kathy nodded, squared her shoulder, lifted her chin, and marched into the house. That impressive show of house-entering bravado lasted roughly until she passed the lintel and then it all slid away, leaving her sagging a little, even as she stood upright.
It looked--felt, smelled--exactly the same, so she couldn't figure out why she was feeling so anxious about being inside. You know, other than because she'd turned into a zombie right here and now it was as if there was a bit of that lingering still.
...oh.
"I should go get changed," she said. "Take a shower. Comb my hair. Shave. Figure out a better order to do all that in."
