Baltimore, Tuesday Night

So, it was probably no surprise to anyone on the island that Kathy had missed last night's class. It might actually be more surprising for people to realize that she had refused to miss tonight's as well and had resolutely taken herself out of bed and off the island, stopping only for a long, cold shower in between.

Part of her determination came from wanting to get away from the pollen entirely. She figured she'd be safe in Baltimore, wedged in a very uncomfortable plastic chair and behind an equally uncomfortable wooden desk, graffiti'd and splintering. What she hadn't taken into account was the sheer amount of pollen clinging to her clothing and her hair; it wasn't anywhere near as all-consuming as it would be on the island right now, but there was still enough to get her libido racing while their instructor explained the best way to turn an ODing victim on their side so if they puked, they wouldn't choke.

Yeah, if her motor was still revving through this lecture, she wasn't as free from the effects in Baltimore as she'd thought.

Their instructor released them from class for their dinner break and Kathy practically sprinted from the room, pretending not to see the few classmates she'd gotten friendly with trying to wave her down. She needed to maybe do some sprints around a park or something and try to run some of this extra energy out.

She'd realize she'd forgotten to grab both her packed meal and her wallet soon enough.
