Baltimore, Monday Night

Dante and Kathy's evening out in Baltimore--she was a little hesitant to call it a date, per se--couldn't have come at a better time. A night out not thinking about the weekend was pretty much exactly what the doctor ordered. And if not thinking about the weekend happened to include a long motorcycle ride through Baltimore at speeds other people might consider 'unsafe' ('insane' might not have been entirely incorrect, either), a stop at the bar for some drinks, and the promise of much more excitement to come, well, then who was Kathy to argue?

"So, where to after this?" Kathy asked, feeling flushed and warm from the drinks and company in about equal measure. "I could show you some of my favorite places around Baltimore, but most of them are just, like, places that it's fun to ambush drug dealers and stuff."

"You really need to get some more hobbies," Dante decided. And if that comment was punctuated by him sliding his arm around her shoulders, well, that just made sense.

He turned his head and smirked at her. "Let's go find you some. Pick a direction."

"I have a ton of hobbies," Kathy said, shifting a little closer to him so their thighs brushed. "I just highly doubt you'd enjoy most of them."

Unless he wanted a tour of Baltimore's best libraries and/or comic shops...?

Eh, no. Pass.

"Better fun hobbies, then," Dante said easily. "Anyway, I don't know this town, but wherever will probably have something, and you haven't picked a direction yet."

"Fine, fine," Kathy said, laughing. "How about..." She pulled up her mental map of Baltimore and deliberately ignored the places where she'd likely to be drawn into Banzai activity. "West," she suggested. "There are some decent bars and clubs in that direction, if you're interested. Or is dancing another one of my boring hobbies?"

There were a few motels, too, if they decided to move indoors. For...reasons.

"Nah," Dante said, his hand sliding effortlessly to her waist. "I like dancing. Let's see if we actually get there, shall we?"

Considering how close he was pulling her now...

And the way her hand had slid to the inside of his thigh...

"Oh? You think that it might be in doubt?" She ran her tongue over her bottom lip. "You think we might get...distracted?"

"Maybe."

Dante dipped his head low, to catch that bottom lip briefly between his teeth.

Kathy groaned, her hand tightening on his leg, nails pressing sharply through the fabric. "You make a compelling point," she said in a husky whisper. "I've been thinking about this since the cupcakes, you know."

She wasn't specifying which ones.

Dante gasped softly, his fingers skimming along her cheek to get some of that hair back and behind her ear. "Good," he said, pressing in to snatch a real kiss.

They could grab the bike and go in a minute.

Which would only help with that distraction, really. The bike had a very...interesting...effect on Kathy, especially at high speeds.

Ahem.

There was nothing soft or tentative about the kiss she gave him. It was hot and hungry, made teasing only because it was about as far as they could go here and now. And before she pulled away, she made sure to rake her nails along the inside of his forearm.

She wanted to make sure he was good and riled before they left.

She was doing a fine job of that; Dante looked unfocused when she pulled away, and his hand had slid just a little further down.

"Right," he said. "Let's go pick this up somewhere else.

As fast as possible, please. He slid away from her, but only to get on the bike.

Well, this had been building up for awhile. There had been a fair bit of tension thrumming between them even before lips and teeth and nails had gotten involved.


Kathy slid onto the bike behind him, though her hands slid up to his chest rather than wrapping around his waist. "Drive fast," she suggested and bit his ear.

Dante brought two fingers up to his forehead to throw her a mock salute. He ran the engine, and they were out of there in a flash.

Didn't need to tell him twice.

Hit the street west and let the throttle go to work. They could stop in a minute. Maybe two. Work up some adrenaline, first.

Kathy's shout of glee could be heard over the growl of the engine and the whipping of the wind in their ears. This was even better than free running over rooftops; just the feeling of freedom singing through her veins and pounding at her pulse points.

The steady thrum between her thighs wasn't hurting anything either.

"You can go faster!" she urged. "Faster!"

"I'm gonna max out on this thing," Dante warned her. He was grinning broadly, though. Fuck, yeah, this was nice.

He took a sharp turn, barely scraping past a car-- close, but not too close. "We gotta find an empty tarmac or something sometime!"

"Hell yeah!" Kathy said. "There's the old Baltimore Municipal airport! Part of it got turned into the marine terminal, but there are still a few old runways around. We should go there!" She slid her hands down his abs until they were brushing against the waistband of his pants. "Another time, I mean."

"Sounds like a good time."

But then most things involving adrenaline did to him. Funny, that.

Something neon and gleaming caught his eye, and he nodded towards a street coming up ahead. "Looks like there's a club or something!" he called.

And, oddly enough, many of them did to Kathy as well. Being an adrenaline junkie was something that had kind of crept up on her, but she wouldn't change it now for the world.

"We gonna check it out, then?" she asked. "A little more public than I was anticipating, but I can make it work."

She had, as she'd once told Ezra, an underdeveloped 'don't get caught' kink and a standing fantasy about getting seduced in the dark corners of a club.

Dante shot her an amused look over his shoulder - though only briefly, because he was going pretty fast. Even supernatural reflexes could only do so much. "I'm sure we can find an alleyway if we really try," he said, swerving in that direction.

"Make it a rooftop," Kathy suggested, their speed the only reason her hands were still at his waistband and not checking to see if he was as devoid of underwear tonight as he had been the last time they'd been to Baltimore. "These alleys are likely to be a lot more crowded than the one Ezra found."

He was about as devoid of underwear, yep. Dante slowed the bike, approaching a side-street, then stopped it entirely, his foot hitting the ground.

"Hey, roofs," he said, "Good one."

He nodded at the stairs. "Boring way or the fun way?"

"You know, I can see arguments for both," Kathy said, tapping her finger against her cheek. "Fun way is fun. Boring way means you can carry me while I focus on making it hard for you to think. Normally I wouldn't even consider the stairs, but..." Her hand strayed to the front of his pants and she cupped him through the fabric. "I can see the appeal."

Ah, nice. Dante smirked, nice and slow, and his hand moved back to touch her thigh. "You're actually tempting me about the slow way," he said. "That's new."

"Sometimes it's fun to do things the slow way," Kathy said. "Builds up the antici--"

She leaned in to nip at his throat, just hard enough to sting for a moment.

"--pation."

Dante's eyes slid shut for just a second. Mm. Sting.

Then he swung his leg over the side of the bike. "Well, c'mon, then."
