Devil May Cry, Limbo City, Thursday Morning

For the last...month? Or so? Dante (and sometimes Anders, but usually Dante, his chest was broader), had gotten to experience the joy of falling asleep with a two-foot tall bouncy antelope kneeling on his chest. Look, between that, the nigh-constant sproinging, and the fact that his cat repeatedly picked fights with his girlfriend because she was snotty and spoiled (unclear pronoun used deliberately), and it had really just been a great goddamn month for the residents of DMC.

At some point the stranglehold the world has had on my brain whimsy of Fandom finally eased, leaving girl behind where klipspringer used to be.

Still curled up on Dante, though, and now significantly heavier. Because why should the universe give that guy a break?

Alluka was definitely not going to notice anything different at first but that was mostly because she was up and about bright and early and had abandoned the house to go out on an early morning AirTrek run.

And also, you know, not anywhere near their bedroom just in general.

She came back with a pile of donuts to share, a new pair of boots, and a chocolate milkshake.

Since she wasn't sure if people were awake yet, she snuck back in quietly, making for the couch.

After waking up followed by a very long shower and teeth-brushing session, Kathy headed downstairs. She wanted breakfast, dammit.

And snuggle time with her visiting tiny sister. "Morning 'Luka," she said, yawning before giving her a brilliant smile.

One day she might grow up. One day!

Alluka squealed as she looked up from the sheet music she was reading. She remembered to set her milkshake down but everything else went flying as she flung herself off the couch.

"Kathy, Kathy, Kathy!"

"Heyyyyy," Kathy said, clinging to Alluka. "Lookit me. I have hands!"

And a wall to clean, le sigh.

She laughed, clinging back.

"You do! I bet you've missed those! And being able to really talk!"

"Mehhhhh!" Her klipspringer impression wasn't great, but it got the point across. "I missed so many things. Like hand, yeah. And showers. And coffee."

"Then let's get you coffee," she said, snagging her milkshake and grinning. "Race you!"

Then Alluka bolted for the kitchen.

"Rude!" Kathy said, cackling, and running after her. "That's cheating!"

"It's fairer this way!" Alluka protested, laughing, as she burst into the kitchen and darted around the table, careful not to trip on any chairs.

"Nuh!" Kathy disagreed, choosing to just bounce over the table entirely. "I live with Dante, I never win!"

"Now that's cheating!" she protested, with a yelp of surprise.

Giggling, Alluka fled under the table instead.

"It's my house, it's impossible for me to cheat!" Kathy announced which sure was a take.
