It had been ten days since the kids had left and Kathy was mostly back to normal. The fact that it was the end of the semester had probably helped a bit in that regard - it was possible to be maudlin and to study your ass off, but it took a lot more energy than Kathy really had to spare.

Her immediate plans for the evening - more studying, finals started on Monday - had been immediately derailed when Dante had declared it a night off, carrying her downstairs to a pillow pile, made from what looked to be every pillow in the damn house. As if that wasn't dirty enough, he plied her with a mixing bowl full of ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce, a similar-sized sundae for him on the other side of the nest.

Ice cream, blankets, pillows, and boyfriend. The perfect recipe to get rid of post-kid and pre-finals blues.

"Already halfway there," Dante groaned, hands sliding over her thighs. "Fuck you're goddamn beautiful."

He wasn't even going to try moving. Fuck, she had this handled.

She was okay with that. This was her rodeo, so to speak, and she was gonna call the shots.

Which, for now, meant leaning over to twine her hands with his, and keep a steady rhythm. When her skirt fluttered out on the downstroke, she could see his length disappearing inside her.

Dante squeezed her hands and let his head drop back, giving in to the irresistible rhythm of her hips. He moaned, eyes slipping shut.

Dante was hot inside her, and thick, filling her up in ways that she would never get used to, not even after decades of fucking him. She took him deep, like she had with her throat, her grip on him greedy and tight, pulling him deeper. Squeezing hard when he couldn't get further in and then the long, slow slide out before doing all over again.

She wanted to make it last. Didn't hit five minutes before she hit the peak, body clenching down before it hit.

She got there just a moment later than he did; groaning loud, emptying himself inside of her, and then she was tight and it was almost too much. His fingers slid out of hers to scrabble at her hips, not sure if he was pushing her away or pulling her closer.

Well, he needed to figure out which one it was, because Kathy was already curling over, whole body loose and easy as she got swept away. Her grip on him relaxed and she sank forward, momentarily forgetting about the art on his chest, to shudder and shake as the aftershocks hit.

That sealed it, and his arms came up around her shoulders, his hands settling on top of them. "Fuck," Dante panted. "Mm."

"God that was good," Kathy groaned into his neck. "Love getting you primed enough that you just blow."

"And a nice blow it was," Dante joked, out of breath.

"Mmm. Mmmhmm," Kathy agreed, going to roll off of him.

Not because she wanted to, but because she knew Dante was hoping not to smear the art.

"Needed that. All of it."

"Yeah, I know my girl," Dante laughed, and stretched his arms above his head. "...Pretty sure you smeared some, though."

"I make you come that hard and you're worried about the artwork," Kathy huffed, her eyes still closed. "You're an afterglow murderer, you are."

"Pffft, fuck," Dante said. "You love that I love your art."

Yeah, maybe a little, or so the smile she was wearing said. But she wasn't going to admit that out loud. "You just like being the center of my attention for hours," she scoffed.

"It's only been an hour, tops," Dante argued, grinning.

Kathy cracked open an eye and stuck her tongue out at him. "When did you turn into a pedant?" she asked.

"When it works for me," Dante laughed. He glanced down. "How bad is it?"

Ugh. Making her sit up again and look.

"Not bad," she said, tracing a few sections. "I'm gonna have to redo some, but mostly only the scales."

Beat.

"Not sorry."

Fucking him had been worth it.

"Not asking you to be sorry," Dante said, grinning. "Asking you to fix it."

"So bossy," Kathy teased, uncapping the marker and rolling over to focus on his abs again. She leaned down to nip the smooth skin there before setting to refix the smeared lines. "I can erase some of the smudged stuff with alcohol."

Beat.

"Rubbing alcohol, don't worry."

"Good, 'cause we're almost out of the nice vodka," Dante laughed.

By which he meant the odiously sweet strawberry stuff, obviously.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Kathy sniffed. "We have plenty of the good stuff still."

She most emphatically did not mean the strawberry stuff.

...Of which more was on the way, because she was a sap for things that made Dante smile.

"Nuh uh," Dante said, poking her in the arm.

Lazily.

"You're gonna make me smudge more and it'll be your own fault," she informed him.

Dante stuck out his tongue. "Maybe you should be more precise or something."
