Last year, Dante had surprised them all but good with his Roseapalooza and decision to make breakfast. Kathy wasn't quite that crazy - that was reserved for Christmas, with minor bleedthrough for Thanksgiving - but she wasn't going to let this year go without a return volley.

Which meant baking. In a tiny red pinup apron over never-you-mind and heels definitely not intended for use in the kitchen, but still...baking. And, you know, a bit of tempering and molding chocolate, too. But by that afternoon, she had a two dozen roses for Dante and two dozen roses for Anders.

And a couple extra each for herself because she wasn't stupid thank you. She loved them, but the boys were bad at sharing.

Food, anyway.

Anders leaned in to kiss Dante, bringing a hand up to stroke the stubble of his jawline.

"Can too be subtle," he murmured, though words hardly seemed necessary.

"My ass says no," Dante chuckled quietly. He pressed his forehead to Anders', smiling.

"Your ass is better at looking pretty than at telling the truth," Anders returned, grinning back as his thumb ran along Dante's lower lip.

"Oh, now it is on," Dante laughed, nudging him up against the kitchen wall for another kiss.

"Get it on?" Anders joked, hands coming to rest on Dante's hips. "Isn't it a little early for that?"

Dante pouted at him. "Are you turning down V-Day makeouts?" he said.

"Only until after breakfast," Anders said, and winked. "Besides, we should wait for Kathy to join us. Unless you think she wants the show..."

"You've met Kat, right?" Dante teased, but he grudgingly restrained himself to just one more kiss, pressed against Anders' lips, before he retreated.

"Once or twice," Anders said, laughing. "You're right. Maybe we owe her a show before our lips are all sticky."

Dante shook his head and let out a soft laugh. "Fine," he said.

And pressed a rose against Anders' chest.

Had he been hiding it that whole time? Yep.

Anders went a little cross-eyed trying to look down at it. “Where did that come from?”

"Got a bunch in the living room," Dante said, grinning. "Might have hidden this one a little."

"You just distracted me with kissing," Anders said, laughing as he took the rose from Dante. "Thank you. It's lovely, isn't it?"

"Hey, I heard your feedback loud and clear last year," Dante said, grinning. "Scale down the flowers. A little."

"But not too much," Anders reminded him. "I like to be spoiled a little."

"And you will be, when you get out into the living room," Dante said, grinning. "Or if you, like, rethink that whole 'no sex' thing..."

"You took the 'no sex' thing much more seriously than I meant it," Anders laughed, running the rose down Dante's chest. "But I guess I could make it into the living room."

"Hey, yes means yes and stuff," Dante said, grinning, eyes dipping down to the rose.
